OT Save VIDEO w Close Captions?

A bit off topic but... I've save a few Russian language WW2 based war mkovies and television series because the stuff in them in so great for model building and diorama ideas - such as the colours of uniforms and arms as well as the colour of weathering and the scenery itself. The problem I discovered after downloading them all is that my VLC Media Player does NOT showthe closed captions that were there on the You Tube videos I downloaded. I used Firefox and Video Download helper or Flash Got. Can anyone here tell me what I need to do in order to save the closed captions that are in the videos?

Here's a screecapture of what i'm using.

This is suing Chrome, but may pertain to Firefox also.

Thanks James. That second one should do it once I figure out the procedure. I'll get my niece to install it and show me how it works.

Cheers

I was also trying to down load the Russian video, but alas no captions. If there is something I would like to keep I might download the video, but to just watch it, I guess I will just stream them to my phone or tablet with the captions.

Of course they might also be available on DVD with CC. Just off of the first part of the first episode it looks worth having a copy. (I like having a disk library)
