Looking very nice Randy . That blue paint is definitely a winner.

I wonder if their bottled version is as good since I try to stay away from the cans .

I have seen Chuck's Shrike before ... :woohoo: Good plan :good:

Cheers, Christian B)

My light colored wash on the one wing is thinned Tamiya paint applied over the enamel blue(stealing from Chuck's build)

That is all for now.

Thanks for looking in!

The guy I stole that idea from called it mapping- but mopping works, too! Essentially it's adding specific areas of filter, like smudgy, muddy or oily boot-prints and hand-prints. I've learned that filters go on much better over a matte or satin finish- the "tooth" of the rougher finish grabs the thinned paint over large, smooth areas, while a gloss finish allows thinned paint to run into crevices and around raised details.

Randy, I'm really tickled that you're referencing my Helldiver build and working your magic in 1/72- cheers, my friend!

Well this forum didn't exist when he did the Helldiver, the other one I followed him on crashed since then so it's gone from there. Chuck you have a link somewhere where the Helldiver thread still lives?

I'll poke around and have a look-see, but I bet it's still up at Aircraftresoucrecenter.com. I'd hate to not have that up!
