Hi Folks,

First, a big thanks to all that have commented. I really do appreciate the kind words from you all.

Next up on this project is the engine block and transaxle. For the 1969 race, this car was outfitted with a 302 Ford motor with Gurney Westlake heads.

Here is a pic of the engine without the 'bundle of snakes' exhaust..

Here is a photo of the Gurney heads and the water manifolds...

Going to be using styrene for the drivetrain.....

the sparkplugs are not set into their holes all the way in this pic...

next up is the ZF transaxle.....

Ref. pic of a replica that is still made today...

Built up with RB Motion nuts and bolts...

Next up is what I'll call the "hoop". It really is the most important element of the 'tub' chassis in the rear area as everything hangs off it...

On the real car it is made of steel stampings welded together..

Then attached to the rest of the chassis...

Here is a good pic showing the back of the chassis without the drivetrain in the way...

Going to use solid bar stock....
