really makes your craftsmanship even more evident.

Today, I counted and I have 98 American G.I. figures that are 90% painted. That includes faces, uniforms, equipment, etc. What is left is tiny details, straps, weapons, insignia and a bit of weathering. Many are tank crews, Jeep and truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, and so on. As most of them will only be visible from the shoulders up. I normally don't give driving figures this much detail, but, I want this one to be very special, because I'm quite sure this will be my last really big one. I'm a healthy 74 year old, and physically fit, but a 74 year old nonetheless. I want this to be my very best super diorama ever, and I've certainly put the time in to prove it. Here's my latest batch of 12. As you can see, they are mostly truck and Jeep drivers, tank riders. All but the M.P. are from the 8th Infantry Division. From the front.

Susan and i will spend the weekend packing. We will begin our trip in Springfield, MO, and take my daughter Gail and her husband to dinner for their 32nd wedding anniversary. Then on to Dallas for Eagle Quest, (Formerly Mastercon) on thursday, friday and saturday. On Saturday, I will give a presentation that will include a power point show of this diorama in progress and end with photos of the first 16 Mastercons. Sunday morning, we will proceed to Houston and our favorite place on the Gulf Coast, Kemah, Texas, with it's boardwalk, great restaurants and amusement park all in a semi-tropical setting on the ocean. We'll be there three days and then on to Lake Charles, Louisiana to see the new Golden Nugget Casino they just built. I'm not much of a gambler, but Susan loves casinos, so that is for her. We'll be back home on Friday the 26th and then back to the bench. We'll take photos and post them when we return.
